The IMC (Instrument Meteorological Conditions) qualification enables the holder to break through the cloud and fly above the weather! Whilst the IMC qualification is only valid in UK airspace, the qualification is an invaluable addition to any pilot, especially during winter weather conditions.
The course is a minimum of 15 hours (10 hours reference to instruments) plus one written and one practical exam. On completion of the course the rating is valid for 25 months.
