Welcome to Shropshire Aero Club! We are a warm and friendly flying club set in the stunning Shropshire countryside. We are located at Sleap Aerodrome, an ex RAF WWII airfield just 8 miles north of the beautiful medieval town of Shrewsbury.

Sleap Aerodrome is equipped for night flying with threshold lighting, runway edge lighting and LITAS on runway 23/05.

The flying club operates seven days a week from two licensed and one unlicensed tarmac runway and an unlicensed high quality grass strip running east of and parallel to runway 23/05 which is maintained throughout the summer.
Shropshire Aero Club offers flying instruction for JAR PPL, NPPL, IMC, Night and Aerobatics courses.
Thanks to Stuart Jameson, these great shots show another quieter side to our usually bustling airfield.
On Sat 5th Sept Avro Vulcan G-VLCN XH558 graced Sleap with a couple of fly pasts at very low level on his way from displaying at Hawarden.

This German registered Remos demonstrator aircraft caused much interest at Sleap on Wednesday. Could it be a Cessna 152 replacement?
This nice 1943 Harvard III is a regular visitor to Sleap.
The Vampire at Sleap on 31st Aug attracted loads to view & some had a great flight in this beautiful historic jet! Fixing the front Oleo, SAC President Roy Dolton enjoys an unusual ride!
We welcome many visitors to Sleap but this summer has seen some well-known faces. At the end of June, Top Gear presenter James May stopped over on his way to Oswestry.
Dudley legend Lenny Henry enjoyed the warm and friendly club atmosphere on a July weekend when Ron Lewis offered to fly Lenny to an appointment at Elstree.
This was the first flying day organised British Disabled Flying Assoc. and the specially adapted aircraft was perfect. Everyone had fantastic flights. Welcome back anytime!
Sleap car park usually has a few Jags & Mercs scattered about; so the arrival of the Trotter-mobile raised smiles. Del was probably in the Cafe claiming he had a PPL!
