Safety Pilot

Aimed primarily at people who regularly accompany pilots on flying trips, students of the Safety Pilot Course are taught the basics of piloting so that in extreme circumstances, the student may maintain control of the aircraft and return it safely.

The course consists of approximately 10 hours of training (all of which is conducted from the right hand seat) covering the following:

Aircraft Familiarisation, Effects of controls, Straight and Level flight, Climbing, descending & turning, Circuits & Landing, Slow flight, stall and recognition, Basic Navigation, Forced Landing, Emergency Procedures & Consolidation of Training.
